Generally, the production of printing paper is divided into two basic processes: pulping and papermaking. Pulping is to use mechanical method, chemical method or a combination of the two methods to dissociate plant fiber raw materials into natural color pulp or bleached pulp. Papermaking is the suspension of pulp fibers in water, after a variety of processing combined into a variety of requirements of the paper.

In general, the paper mill needs to store enough raw materials for 4-6 months, so that the raw materials can be naturally fermented during storage, so as to facilitate pulping and ensure the continuous production of the paper mill. Through the material preparation section, raw materials such as reed, wheat straw and wood are cut into pieces (for the production of chemical pulp) or wood chips (for the production of ground wood pulp), and then small pieces of raw materials are put into a digester, added with chemical solution, and steam is used for cooking. The raw materials are boiled into pulp, or the wood chips are sent to a wood grinder to grind into pulp, or they can be cooked to a certain extent and then ground into pulp. Then the pulp is washed with a large amount of water, and the coarse pieces, knots, stones and sand in the pulp are removed through screening and purification. According to the requirements of paper grade, the pulp is bleached to the required whiteness with bleaching agent, and then the beating equipment is used for beating. Then, the paper pulp is added with fillers, sizing agents, sizing agents and other auxiliary materials to improve the performance of the paper, cleaned and screened again, and then sent to the paper machine for water filtration, press dehydration, dryer drying, calendering and coiling, and then slitting and rewinding or cutting to produce web paper and flat paper. If you want to produce coated printing paper, you need to dry the middle or produce roll paper after coating.

In addition to the above basic processes, there are also some auxiliary processes, such as the preparation of cooking liquid, the preparation of bleaching liquid, the preparation of rubber, and the recovery of chemicals and heat energy from cooking waste liquid and waste gas.
